3 days Uganda chimpanzee trekking safari in Kibale is a Uganda primates safari package that takes you world’s primate capital known as Kibale forest national park which is famously known for holding the huge numbers of the chimpanzees
Kibale Forest has over 1500 chimpanzee species. Apart from chimpanzees, the park is habitat for other 13 primate species including red-tailed monkey, Vervet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and among others. The safari begins and ends in Kampala-Uganda.
Itinerary
Day 2
Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi nature walk in Kibale forest national park.
Wake up early on a relaxed breakfast, and meet up with your driver to drive you to the park headquarters for a briefing about the expectations , rules and regulations while carrying out chimpanzee trekking.
After the briefing you will be divided into different groups of 6 people per group with the presence of armed park rangers will take you into the jungle to find habituated chimpanzees that are familiar to the park trails.
Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park takes a period of about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on the location of the chimpanzees.
During Uganda chimpanzee trekking safari, you spot endless wildlife like Vervet monkeys, Red colobus monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, blue monkeys, mangabey monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, and more.
You'll also see buffaloes, leopards, bush pigs, sitatunga, golden cats, forest hogs, bushbucks, mongooses, duikers, and more. You can also see colorful and beautiful bird species like Dusky Crimson wings, African pitta, Abyssinian ground thrush, Black bee-eater, Purple-breasted sunbird, crowned eagle, Blue-breasted kingfisher, Yellow-rumped tinker bird, Yellow-spotted Nicator, Green-breasted pitta, and others.
Once you locate the chimpanzees ,you will be given one hour to be in their presence while watching them feed, groom, play, that’s when you take their pictures record their memories.
After the experience , go back to the starting point and get chimpanzee trekking certificates for taking part in chimpanzee trekking. From there you will be driven back to the lodge for lunch and freshen up
Nature walks in Bigodi:
After lunch, meet with your driver guide from Vision Adventure Safaris for an evening Nature walk in Bigodi wetland Sanctuary where you will sight out more primates, mammals, birds and lots of botanical plant species.
After the evening nature walk you will go back to the lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 3
Departure.
This is the last Days of your Uganda Chimpanzee safari. Wake-up on a relaxed breakfast at the lodge, check out of the lodge and meet with your drive to begin the journey back to Kampala where you will arrive during lunch hours, enjoy your relaxed lunch, have a brief Kampala City tour and transfer to Entebbe International airport for departures to the next destination or be dropped at your destination of convenience.
